This is a quick and easy side dish to make! In fact, not only can you use it for a side dish, you could easily add meat and vegetables to make it more of a main meal if you’d like!
Some meat ideas are chicken, shrimp or beef. A medley of frozen peas and carrots would also work well to add in vegetables. This is kind of versatile if you’d like it to be!
In addition, this is one of those recipes that is perfect to use if you already have cooked rice and you want to do something with it. That was the case when I first made it. I had some chicken flavored rice leftover and wanted to use it up. Plain rice would absolutely work as well too!
I used Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce. It’s pretty easy to find in most grocery stores.

With a few ingredients, you’ll have this tasty dish on the table in no time!
Teriyaki Fried Rice
- 1/3 c. Chopped onion
- 1/4 c. Butter
- 4 c. Cold cooked rice
- 3 T. Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 T. Fresh minced parsley
- 1 t. Garlic Powder
- 1/8 t. Pepper
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
1.). In a large skillet, sauté onion in butter until tender. Stir in the rice, teriyaki sauce, parsley, garlic powder and pepper.
2.). Cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the egg; cook and stir until egg is completely set, about 3 minutes.
Yield: 4 servings
