I’ve been making this Caesar Dressing Recipe for years! In fact, in my family it became a thing. A big thing! It all started when my son was about 3 years old. His nanny fed him vegetables for lunch and one of those veggies she introduced him to was Caesar salad. He loved it so much that he would throw fits if he didn’t get a Caesar salad. A 3 year old throwing a fit over a Caesar Salad! I know, right?
Anyhow, we were in the mall one day and I asked him what he wanted to eat. They had hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers and a ton of other things. What does my son do? He threw a fit right there in the mall! He was stomping his feet demanding a Caesar Salad, quite loud I might add! I was able to find him one though and this poor child (shaking my head here) didn’t have to suffer through a tasty hot dog.
So that kind of became a family joke after that incident. So much so, that I received a Caesar Salad book for Christmas that year. It’s Caesar Salads by Jose Warner. Apparently Caesar Salad is America’s favorite salad! Who knew?
Anyhow, this recipe is the only one I have ever made from that book. I’m not sure why, other than this dressing is nothing short of spectacular! I kind of stopped right there. But if you love Caesar Dressing, by all means buy this book!
Without further delay, I present to you
The Best Creamy Caesar Dressing Recipe
- 1 large garlic clove, minced or finely chopped
- 1 T. Anchovy paste (optional)
- 1/4 c. Fresh lemon juice
- 1 T. Whole grain or Dijon mustard
- 1 t. Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 c. Mayonnaise
- 1/2 c. Parmesan Cheese
Whisk all ingredients in a bowl or blend in blender or bullet. Chill in fridge for best taste.
That is all there is to this Creamy dressing recipe. Use it on Caesar Salad, Chicken for Caesar salad, or on Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwiches!
It’s helpful to make it up in advance so you have it when you need it and it’s nice and cold right out of the refrigerator.
We like plain Dijon mustard best, however, it is good with whole grain mustard as well. Use your favorite mayonnaise!
